You will serve as an ACCIDENT PREVENTION TECHNICIAN in the Lifting and Handling Department (Code 200), TRIDENT Refit Facility (TRIREFFAC-KB) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will plan, oversee, and conduct surveillances and audits of all aspects of the TRIREFFAC-KB Lifting and Handling Department. You will have authority and responsibility to initiate action to stop work, correct unsafe conditions and ensure that safe work practices are followed as situations warrant. You will receive and input work completion data pertaining to crane and rigging operations for scheduled and unplanned work. You will possess knowledge of waterfront crane team, rigging, weight test operations and crane maintenance as they apply to TRIREFFAC-KB.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an IT Level II.

Qualifications

GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience observing various processes subjectively as it relates to identify tangible, near miss or accidents. Experience ensuring maintenance areas are being used based on procedural compliance and proper maintenance practices. Experience examining work packages.
