About the Position: Fort Liberty is known as the "Home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces." It is a culturally diverse area with both rural and city populations and is co-located at Fayetteville, NC. It is centrally located just hours away from the beautiful beaches of North Carolina and the scenic Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains.

Duties
Perform word processing, prepares narrative and/or tabular material, charts, graphics, forms, reports, speeches, memoranda, directives, and finished correspondence for signature.
Establish and maintain office files and directives of interest to the Command Group Senior Leader.
Process large volumes of correspondence to meet critical schedules of the Command Group Senior Leader, including classified and/or matters of confidentiality.
Compose a wide-range of administrative correspondence for Command Group Senior Leader, to include but not limited to Star Notes and Letters of Recommendations.
Receive all correspondence relating to calendar and travel requirements for the Command Group Senior Leader, replies to mail not requiring the direct attention of the Command Group Senior Leader.
Make necessary arrangements for executive level travel, coordinates schedules of visits, makes travel arrangements, notifies officials to be visited, and submits travel documentation upon return.
Requirements
- May be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- May be required to travel 5% of the time.
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes making arrangements for travel to include submission of travel vouchers; preparing correspondence in final form for Command signature; maintaining calendar of official and social engagements; scheduling major events. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. [remove LL.M., if unrelated] with a major study in electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
