About the Position: Fort Gregg-Adams, Home of Logistic Warriors, is a US Army installation located near the Tri-Cities of Petersburg, Colonial Heights, and Hopewell, VA. Fort Gregg-Adams is south of Richmond, the Capital of Virginia. There are a number of important missions accomplished by the activities located here. The missions accomplished at Fort Gregg-Adams include combat and training development and the professional development of military personnel through various training programs.
Duties
Researches, organizes, prepares, and presents instruction.
Prepares and conducts instruction pertinent to automated sustainment systems and associated communication systems.
Assists with class administration.
Helps course director plans, organizes, and carry out the administrative functions of the course for assigned classes in accordance with established suspense(s).
Participates on a team with SASMO management specialists, military logistics specialists, military analysts, and others as required, to recommend solutions to problems or deficiencies.
Experience in methods and techniques of instruction, course administration, management techniques, interpersonal communication, and managerial skills is necessary consulting services and doctrinal reviews, as required.
Reviews instructional material to be presented, rehearses for instruction, sponsors guest speakers, and attends selected classroom presentations of other instructors
(but not in the role of student, supervisor, or administrator) for the purpose of enhancing the interrelationships of logistics subjects.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Required TDY travel may exceed 50% of time, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs unassisted.
- Pre-employment physical is required.
- Technical proficiency required in the areas of computer systems hardware, operating systems, sustainment systems (including Global Combat Service Support Army Standard Army Ammunition System-Modernization,
- Transportation Coordinators’ Automated Information for Movement System II, and Unit-Level Logistics Systems-Aviation), system interfaces, systems networking, trouble-shooting, communication protocols,
- and the use of Very Small Aperture Terminal/Combat Service Support Automated Information Systems Interface (VSAT/CAISI).

In order to qualify, you must meet the EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction such as: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s), manage/administer a training program, establish/maintain training safety and equipment maintenance protocols, develop/review training/course materials, aids, devices, etc. and evaluation of training results, or work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training, mentoring and/or instructing others on a regular basis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Logistics, Adult Learning & Leadership, or Education.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
