About the Position: This position is assigned to The Adjutant General Division (TAGD) in the U.S. Human Resources Command (USAHRC). The incumbent serves as the Assistant Army Project Officer and leads a team in the Army Project Office (APO) for Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and the Real-Time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS).
Duties
Prepares correspondence for review to various external Federal agencies, other Department of Defense organizations and Army elements to provide requested information.
Assists the Army Project Officer (APO) with investigating a variety of problems/inquiries related to the determination of eligibility for service-related entitlements, benefits and privileges.
Establishes operating guidelines to implement procedures, methods, and other work-related changes; improves operating effectiveness or corrects problems.
Operates Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and the Real-Time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS) as the Army's technical and policy expert.
Determines work priorities and assigns DEERS/RAPIDS work to employees based on selective consideration of such factors as difficulty/requirements of assignments, available resources, and the capabilities and/or special qualifications of employees.
Researches, identifies and resolves necessary changes to database files in a timely manner.
Conducts research for various investigations or projects assigned by the Army Project Officer.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires that the employee occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 5% of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1.) Analyzing facts and determining a course of action to resolve issues; 2.) Advising organizations regarding emerging technology, changing policies, or software changes and development; AND 3.) Researching, resolving, and making necessary changes to database files in a timely manner. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
