About the Position: This position is located at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, bordering Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive east and Springfield is a 1-hour drive west of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

Conduct training instruction on a variety of military simulators utilizing various forms of presentation equipment. Operate Engagement Skills Training simulators in support of customer training. Maintain adequate inventory of training parts, supplies, etc. to support scheduled training. Monitor programs associated with training equipment to identify problems adversely impacting on Engagement Skills Trainer training support. Conduct training briefings to all levels of staff and commands as required. Perform preventive maintenance, service checks, and diagnostic procedures on Engagement Skills Training simulators. Modify briefing scripts to provide more detail as required by the type of tour group or specific interests.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This work requires routine evening and weekend with occasional holiday hours.
  • Overtime is routinely scheduled two weeks in advance but, as special situations arise, may be required with less than 24 hour notification.
  • Incumbent will have to pass a pre-employment physical to meet Physical Efforts requirements; i.e., must be able to lift overhead and maneuver 60 pounds.
  • The incumbent must be capable of operating a motor vehicle and maintaining a valid state driver's license. The incumbent may be required to obtain a government driver's license.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education and TrainingEducation and Training Program AdministrationTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcements.
