About the Position: This is a permanent position with the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence (MSCoE), Command Element, Office of the Chief of Staff, G3 Academics, Instruction at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Duties
Perform the duty as Chief of the Battle Command Instruction Section in the MSCoE Battle Simulation Center (BSC)/Digital Training Facility (DTF).
Plan and assign work and give advice/counsel or instruction to subordinates.
Advise key MSCoE officials on policy, planning, review and research related to the Live Virtual Constructive Integrated Training Environment (LVC-ITE).
Oversee the day-to-day delivery of constructive simulations training to the three MSCoE Schools and the NCO Academy.
Develop and analyze data used to prepare Training Device Needs Statement (TDNS), Training Development Studies (TDS) and Training Device Requirements (TDR).
Validate the type and capabilities of each simulation system to best match the system to the training requirements.
Establish guidelines for evaluation and quality assessment of simulation software programs.
Review proponent material and related items to determine shortcomings, design deficiencies, safety hazards and recommended corrective actions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Will often be required to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
- The position requires that the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Incumbent is require to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08). Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) required in the performance of duties: 10%.
- Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
- Incumbent must be able to complete the CP-36 Simulation Operations Course (SOC) certificate within 12 months.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing a digital training program based around Virtual and Constructive exercises; performing long-range training planning and/or training analysis; administering a training scheduling system; and developing training polices and/or standard operating procedures, instructing organizational Mission Command Systems such as Joint Battle Command-Platform (JBC-P), and Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcement.
