About the Position: This position is located at the Military Police School at Ft Leonard Wood, Missouri. Ft Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Ft Leonard Wood.
Duties
Provide technical, administrative and resource guidance support to managers and supervisors in the administration of training programs.
Serve as supervisor for one GS-09 Training Analyst whose position is classified as GS-1702 and two Training Technicians whose positions are classified to the GS-1702 series.
Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, the difficulty of the work to be performed, and the capabilities of employees.
Prepare budgetary estimates for supplies and equipment for the operation of training programs.
Develop, maintain, and analyze course attendance/training data along with funding and budget data to track mission requirements with budget expenditures.
Develop and maintain strict property/equipment accountability procedures, sign for all property and equipment within organization.
Maintain course schedules; review lesson plans for administrative accuracy; adjust scheduling of courses and instructor commitments when and where possible to maximize use of limited resources.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
- An appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: managing a variety of budgetary tasks, such as budget estimates, forecasting funds for travel requirements, and preparing and distributing a training budget for the organization; assigning and evaluating work to be accomplished by subordinates; and providing training management support services that include maintaining course schedules, reviewing lesson plans, analyzing proposed student loads, current programs and available resources. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
