You will serve as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) in the Information Technology & Cyber Security Division, Spectrum Warfare Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Duties

You will perform cyber security risk assessments, physical security assessments, user awareness training, and develop accreditation documentation. You will coordinate with users to clarify requirements, obtain missing data, explain processing delays, discuss priority adjustment options, discuss alternative process methods and anticipated time of process completion. You will engage in NAWCWD continuous monitoring activities and report status to the D55 Department Information System Security Manager (DISSM). You will participate in planned and unscheduled security inspections to include cybersecurity validations and command physical security inspections. You will ensure cybersecurity incidents are reported and actions are taken in accordance with NAWCWD Incident Response Plan procedures.

• This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 722, proficiency level Basic (B) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

DS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band (DS-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Understanding of computer systems and related cybersecurity software and hardware components; 2) Providing cyber security support for an acquisition program/laboratory; 3) Performing IT review of new equipment prior to procurement and throughout the acquisition process; 4) Performing responsibilities related to cybersecurity compliance, technical support and customer service; 5) Demonstrating knowledge in Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) reporting; and 6) Performing cyber security risk assessments, physical security assessments, user awareness training, system auditing and compliance requirements. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. DS-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band (DS-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Understanding of computer systems and related cybersecurity software and hardware components; 2) Assisting in providing cyber security support for an acquisition program/laboratory; 3) Assisting in IT review of new equipment prior to procurement and throughout the acquisition process; and 4) Performing responsibilities related to cybersecurity compliance, technical support and customer service. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management

OR

3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks

DS-03:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks

OR

2 full years (36 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks
