Duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) at the Pentagon is searching for a Director of Force Development (NH-0201-04, GS 14/15 equivalent). Description: The United States Space Force's (USSF) Chief Human Capital Office (CHCO) is looking to hire its next Director of Force Development. If you are a well-versed, experienced training and development leader that is excited about leading people, transformation, and change, then keep reading.The stand up of a military department offers a very challenging, yet rewarding, experience to apply your transformation and out-of-the-box thinking in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, forming and shaping each program. S1D is responsible for the programs and policies for development of officer, enlisted and civilian Guardians for USSF. The Director is responsible for the coordination, integration and implementation of all force development policies, directives and strategy for the service. The Director will leave a team passionate about taking care of our Guardians. Ideal Candidate: Technical: - Expert in enterprise-level education, training, and career development policy creation and revision - Expert in the Joint Planning and Decision-Making Processes - Experience working at the Military Department Service Level, Title 10 HQ Staff - Experience in enlisted and officer development programs policies - Experience in civilian personnel development programs and policies - Experience in project management and the ability to run effective operational planning teams and working groups - Experience preparing and presenting material for General Officers and Senior Executives - Familiarity with the DOTMLPF-P and Organize, Train, and Equip (OTE) processes- Familiarity in correlating knowledge, skills, abilities and behaviors into corresponding competencies policy Leadership: - This is a senior position on the Space Force Headquarters staff that interacts and engages with all levels of leadership throughout the Space Force, Air Force and Department of Defense - Seasoned leader, with 1st and 2nd level supervisory experience - Thrives in an environment of close collaboration with peers - Excited about technology, innovation and change - Superior collaboration and teambuilding skills - Trusted mentor to guide and develop others- Senior Level Education (SLE) or Intermediate Level Education (ILE) graduate - This position is supervisory and reports to the Chief Human Capital Officer (SES, Tier 3). The CHCO is a direct report to the Chief of Space Operations (4 Star General).

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • This position is eligible for telework 4-6 days a pay period.
  • PCS and incentives are authorized.
  • If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement. More information on PCS requirements, may be found at: https://afciviliancareers.com/regulatory/
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Supervisory requirements may be required depending upon the position being filled.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
