You will serve as a Motor Vehicle Operator in the Vehicle Operations Control Center, Logistics Readiness Department of 647th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, HI.
Duties
You will operate one of more types of gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles/ tractor trailers typically having a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of more than 32,000 pounds.
Operates wrecker and recovery equipment as required, to include medium integrated tow vehicle or
flatbed wreckers.
You will drive over public roads in a full range of traffic conditions and at highway speeds to transport cargo.
You will operate buses capable of carrying 16 or more passengers on public roads in a full range of traffic conditions and at highway speeds.
You will operate forklifts to facilitate cargo loading/unloading.
You will perform operator maintenance, such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires, cleaning and washing of vehicles, and performing inspection checklists to ensure safe and proper operation.
You will utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
You will receive requests for motor vehicle services, documents service request, and transmit instructions to vehicle operators.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain Class A CDL with P and X endorsements.

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to and have performed common tasks including a majority of the following: operation of gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles/tractor trailers with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of more than 32,000 pounds to transport oversized loads including cargo, supplies, equipment, and passengers. I have followed all traffic and safety regulations, practices, and procedures pertaining to the operation of these vehicles. I have recognized developing hazardous roads and traffic conditions adjusting driving methods to accommodate surrounding traffic and selecting alternative route. I have followed instructions, specifications, etc. related to motor vehicle operation, preventive maintenance, and passenger safety. I have operated tractor trailers, trucks, and buses to transport cargo and passengers throughout rural and urban areas on public roads and interstate highways. I have coupled/uncoupled truck and trailer to connect/disconnect air brakes and electrical lines. I have determined manner and sequence of loading cargo and passengers to achieve balance and protection for fragile items. I have performed routine operator maintenance, such as checking fluid levels, condition and air pressure of tires, cleaning and washing vehicles. I have maintained strict two-way radio (or other device) discipline utilizing established codes and identification when broadcasting. I have followed safety practices and procedures, rules and regulations. I have used properly fitted required safety equipment and clothing. I have performed work that requires reaching, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls. I have lifted and carried objects weighing up to 40 pounds and heavier objects with assistance. I have performed work that required the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth. I have operated one or more electric, liquid petroleum gas (LPG), or diesel powered forklift truck to facilitate loading and unloading duties. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
