Qualifications
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as coordinating with a team to manage public outreach for environmental justice programs; evaluating environmental programs' performance to identify areas of improvement; and collaborating with internal and/or external parties to resolve environmental or programmatic issues.
Your application package will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Knowledge of environmental protection laws, policies and statutes; 2) Ability to interpret environmental requirements to provide guidance to pollution control professionals and the community; 3) Skill in oral communication; 4) Skill in program management; 5) Ability to evaluate programs and policies to determine areas of improvement; 6) Skill in incorporating technical policies into guidelines and standards; 7) Skill in written communication.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
