The primary purpose of this position is to assist the squadron commander and line managers with administrative aspects of organizational management freeing them to spend more time on operational management, mission accomplishment, and war fighter support.
Duties
1. Conduct a wide variety of administrative management duties in support of the squadron mission and operations.
2. Perform squadron budget administration functions in the planning and execution of annual Operating Cost Based Budget (OCCB) and Expense Budgets.
3. Plan, organize, coordinate and accomplish assigned workload (other duties as assigned).
4. Comply with directives, regulations, processes and other guidance.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes include knowledge of system concepts, principles and practices applicable to a large range of management and use of related automated systems and applicable directives; knowledge of logistics, material support programs and functions to assure that advice and consultation meet required objectives; knowledge of Technical Order (TO) system operating programs and interrelationships among other various programs/projects. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

EDUCATION: A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: An equivalent combination of successfully completed, qualifying education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Specialized experience directly related to the work of the position may be used to meet the requirements of this position. Education in excess of a 1 full year of graduate level education may be used to qualify applicants for the GS-09 level. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques and skill at integrating these with the general management of an organization.
Knowledge and understanding of the means for, and problems involved in, obtaining and controlling financial resources needed.
Knowledge of the kinds of equipment and material generally used within a production organization.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Able to read and interpret written guidance in the form of policy statements, program guidance, directives, regulations, and other related material.
Ability to work given broad, general guidance independently determining plans and appropriate course of actions.
Ability to apply lean, safety, security, and health principles, practices, and procedures and to understand and apply internal management procedures.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Physical Demands: The work is mostly sedentary. No special physical demands are required. There will likely be walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, or carrying of items up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment: The employee works in an adequately lighted and ventilated office environment. Observes normal safety precautions required in an office environment. Walking through and into industrial production areas may be required necessitating observance of safety precautions other than those of an office environment.
