This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration in the Imbalance Market Coordination, Real Time Operations, System Operations, Transmission Services.
A successful candidate in the Supervisory Public Utilities Specialist position serves as supervisor of the Imbalance Market Coordination organization with responsibility for planning, supervising, and leading programs, systems, and work processes that are necessary to perform the critical mission and support activities.
Duties
As a Supervisory Public Utilities Specialist (Imbalance Market Coordination), you will:
Serves as the supervisor of the Imbalance Market Coordination organization and a member of the Real Time Operations management team with responsibility for planning, supervising, and leading programs, systems, and work processes that are necessary to perform the critical mission and support activities required of the organization supervised.
Directing the development, implementation and evaluation of all programs and policies which ensure the timely delivery of products and programs in support of Bonneville's strategic business objectives.
Represents Transmission Services and/or the BPA in working directly with executive-level personnel, managers and staff in BPA, other Federal agencies; State and local authorities; public and privately-owned utilities, manufacturers and providers of goods and services utilized by BPA.
Leads or participating as a technical expert in committees and working groups for resolving critical problems related to BPA Market participation and programs requiring innovative solutions.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13 in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience for this position is defined as: 1) planning and managing programs, systems or work processes necessary to perform the critical mission and support activities; 2) managing resources to support the organization's strategic business objectives; and 3) partnering with internal and external stakeholders.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
