This position is located at the Baltimore VA Medical Center, a Department of Veterans Affairs Facility. The incumbent serves as an Electrical Supervisor and Electronics Supervisor. The incumbent of this section must plan, review and schedule all work pertinent to the electrical distribution, as well as maintain all electronic maintenance and repairs related to patient care, such as power plant controls, HVAC Controls, Fire Alarms, and elevators.
Duties
Duties may include:
Plans, reviews and schedules all work pertinent to the electrical distribution, as well as maintain all electronic maintenance and repairs related to patient care, such as power plant controls, HVAC Controls, Fire Alarms, and elevators
Furnishes technical details and information if not readily available or understood by subordinates.
Monitors the work activities of contract workers, licensed electricians, vendor representatives, and maintenance employees who have been contracted to work on projects.
Plans weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates
Identifies and maps the scope of electrical and electronic projects by reviewing and interpreting plans, blueprints, and specifications, and prepares sketches, plans, and material lists.
Ensures 100% completion of monthly Preventative Maintenance to test all category 5-10 pieces of equipment, ensure proper operation, perform any necessary preventative repairs, and record processes on numerous documents and in VISTA. Ensures all preventative maintenance performed is documented and archived on the Shared Drive to be readily accessibility for anyone needing reference due to Joint Commission, CAM, OIG, or other inquires.
Implements new and maintains current preventive maintenance programs, and follows safety standards and procedures to prevent injuries
Tests all cabling to ensure cables meet or exceed the standards of ANSI TIA 568. Selects and installs the appropriate color CAT cable for the intended use of the cable for future recognition. Installs and maintains RF communication systems to include two-way UHF radios and repeaters, and HF Emergency Radios.
Responsible for maintaining the 10,000-gallon underground diesel storage tank, including tank integrity testing, fueling, record keeping, and maintaining the automatic tank gauge.
