The incumbent will serve as an Emergency Management Specialist in the Security Programs staff located in the Criminal Division, Office of Administration. The Security Programs staff is responsible for personnel security, physical security, information security, and emergency management programs in the Criminal Division.

Duties

As an Emergency Management Specialist, you will: Develop and administer the Division's emergency management programs and ensure supporting documentation is maintained and up to date. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Departmental policies and directives. Coordinate disaster response or crisis management activities, providing recommendations and advice to senior level staff as required. Evaluate the conformance of programs and program actions to available guides, such as pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and precedents that affect the use of program and related resources. Participate in development and delivery of classes and briefings on emergency preparation, procedures, and processes. Recognize hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions, develop measures to eliminate or control these conditions and effectively communicate the appropriate measures to resolve these problems. Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, applicant must have one (1) year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-11 grade level. Examples of specialized experience include: organizing and implementing emergency management plans and drills; managing emergency communications systems; assessing emergency program compliance with appropriate laws and regulations; and providing formal presentations on emergency management activities. To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, applicant must have one (1) year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-12 grade level. Examples of specialized experience include: developing emergency management plans; participating in working groups on emergency preparedness; assessing emergency program compliance with appropriate laws and regulations; providing formal presentations on emergency management activities; and providing training to personnel in emergency response policy and procedure. Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements for consideration by the closing date of this announcement.
