Duties

You will operate vehicles to transport personnel, articles, and materials throughout the installation and occasionally off center on public roads. You will complete trip tickets, a driver's log, maintain preventative maintenance records, and driver's accident reports in accordance with local Standard Operating Procedures. You will be performing operational inspections of vehicles to include such items as loose parts, damaged or worn tires, proper air pressure in tires, functioning lights, and adequate levels of fluids within the vehicle. You will clean the vehicles, waiting areas, and work areas as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States Class B Commercial driver’s license with HAZMAT endorsement.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF A MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including: 1) Reading, interpreting, and applying information gathered from signs, buildings, maps, and safety regulations; 2) Communicating clearly and concisely with supervisors, dispatchers, and crane operators regarding the progress of work and causes of work delays; 3) Identifying potential safety hazards and taking appropriate preventative measures to mitigate damage or loss to personnel and/or equipment; and 4) Loading a vehicle in the safest and most effective manner as well as performing minor maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels and filling if necessary.
