Duties

You will prepare field inspection reports to indicate the condition of the facility inspected and recommend repairs. You will serve as a technical representative for meetings involving project planning and execution, material management and process improvement. You will identify technical issues to develop engineered solutions to problems related with systems or equipment. You will conduct pre-final and final inspections to ensure completed work complies with contract requirements.

  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You may be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Apply engineering concepts, principles and practices applicable to a range of engineering disciplines (i.e, civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural, environmental) required for the design, layout, execution processes of construction operations in order to provide input on construction projects; 2) Ensure compliance of quality control plans for construction projects; 3) Make recommendations to resolve problems encountered during construction operations; and 4) Interpret construction guidance specifications for the purpose of monitoring contract compliance, and 5) Enforcing construction contracts while interpreting construction guidance specifications.
