Serves as a Supervisory Information Technology (IT) Specialist (INFOSEC) under the Enterprise Office of the Chief Information Security Officer over the Cyber Testing & Evaluation Section. The incumbent will serve as an integral member of the Enterprise Cyber/CCRM team as a specialist in the development, security and operational testing, implementation, and operation of the CCRM Test Program for all Agency systems, networks, and/or enclaves.

Duties

As a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) you will be responsible for the following duties: - Serve as INFOSEC/Information Technology Specialist Test Supervisor for OCIO/CISO/CCRM/CAMO. - Investigate and analyze IV&V, and GAT, technologies, processes, cyber/test methods, and techniques using a high degree of originality and sound judgment. - Create and maintain tracking information of software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests and usability. - Plan, coordinate, and direct recovery activities. - Examine all available information and supporting evidence or artifacts related to an incident or security event. - Identify possible security violations using various tactics, tool, and procedures.

  • Telework Eligibility: This position is telework eligible, but is not a full time telework position. The incumbent will be required to report to the office on a routine basis.
  • If selected, the incumbent must obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance as indicated in job announcement.
  • Required to obtain and maintain appropriate Information Technology/Security certifications equivalent to Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II as defined by DoD 8570.01-M/DoD 8140-M, within six months of the appointment date.
  • The incumbent must sign a Statement of Understanding regarding the certification requirement and maintaining the appropriate certification is a condition of employment.

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS-GG12 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Expert knowledge of wide range of IT and telecommunications, cybersecurity, Software Development Lifecycle, agile testing, Cybersecurity/Test & Evaluations policies, Independent Validation and Verification, and Government Acceptance Testing, technologies, processes, test methods, and techniques using a high degree of originality and sound judgment in formulating, evaluating and testing. Expert knowledge of creating software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, cyber, error or bug retests and usability. Briefing key stakeholders and leadership on risk impacts and assessments. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: . Cybersecurity - Protect and defend information and information systems in order to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability. (AKA Information Assurance) Application Software - Application Software-design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, vulnerability management and support of new or existing applications software. Software Testing and Evaluation - Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for analyzing and developing software test and evaluation procedures. Systems Testing and Evaluation - Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for analyzing and developing systems test and evaluation procedures and technical characteristic of IT systems, including identifying critical operational issues.
