As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Selectee will serve as a Supervisory IT Specialist in the TFMS/NAIMES Services Team, AJW-B170.

Duties

Serves as the frontline manager for the Traffic Flow Management System (TMFS) & NAS Aeronautical Information Messaging Enterprise System (NAIMES) Services Team.Supervises a team of system administrators, database administrators, technical watch officers, engineers, and many contractor resources related to the operation, maintenance, and oversight of two enterprise National Airspace System (NAS) components: TFMS and NAIMES.Workforce is geographically dispersed between the FAA Technical Center in Atlantic City, NJ and the FAA Joint Air Traffic Operations Command (JATOC) in Warrenton, VA.Supervises a diverse team that operates in a 24/7 NAS operational environment.Collaborates with second-level engineering and program offices to ensure long-term stability of NAS systems and services. Provides Technical Operations first-level O&M oversight over modernization and change efforts.Communicates with Technical Operations Control Center personnel at the national level to provide system status and incident response.Ensures systems and personnel are in compliance with FAA policies related to NAS maintenance, modifications, and configuration management, such as 6000.15, 6032.1, and 1800.66.Manages operational risk management (ORM) for several high-impact enterprise NAS systems and takes appropriate action to mitigate risk and ensure operational and personnel safety.
