This Personnel Security Specialist position is located in the Office of Information and Resource Management (OIRM), Division of Administrative Services (DAS), Security Management and Integrity Branch, Personnel Security Section. This position is responsible for determining individuals' suitability and security eligibility for entry and retention in sensitive and nonsensitive positions.
Duties
As a Personnel Security Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-13 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 Level in the federal government overseeing and managing the operational activities of an agency's security program initiatives as it relates to personnel security. Examples of specialized experience includes issuing background investigation requirements; evaluating the sensitivity level of positions; managing the security clearance and suitability/fitness process; conducting national security and suitability adjudicative reviews; and representing an organization in personnel security matters.
In addition to the specialized experience, applicants must meet the selective factors below to be found qualified. Please ensure that these experiences are identified in your resume.
1) Experience reviewing the duties of a position and the position description and/or the Position Description Record to determine if the appropriate risk designation and investigation has been designated.
2) Experience using the personnel security system Bridgesecure.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education may enhance skills required for this position; however, no substitution of education for specialized experience may be made at this level.
