You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY in the Data Management Branch, Ocean Analysis Division, Ocean Projects Department, of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Duties
You will serve as a first line supervisor responsible to plan, organize, supervise, and direct the work activities of employees.
You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates; set priorities; prepare schedules for completion of work; and assign work to
subordinates based on priorities.
You will manage the development and maintenance of Environmental Data Architecture (EDA) containing bathymetry, geology, oceanography and meteorology data from both NAVOCEANO and external sources.
You will manage the development and maintenance of the Geospatial Environmental Analysis and Visualization System (GEAVS) containing high-density bathymetry, geology, and oceanography and meteorology data from NAVOCEANO and trusted external sources.
You will manage the development and maintenance of Ocean Data in Submarine Transit Areas (ODISTA) containing product scale bathymetry, geology, and oceanography and meteorology data and products.
You will manage the development of new and/or revisions of existing analytical tools, processing software, and all other in-house
developed software.
You will be responsible for Configuration Management of in-house post processing systems, software and analysis tools.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience with bathymetry, hydrography, oceanography, meteorology, statistics, navigation, cartography, applied mathematics, computer science, marine geology, tectonics, cartography, marine geophysics, and acoustics data.
Experience in data base management, data representation, seafloor modeling techniques, concepts of automation, information processing display, data structures, file systems, software development methodologies, and network protocols.
Experience leading, managing or supervising a technical workforce on a project, program, or collaborative effort.
Experience and knowledge of contracts or program requirements, related to costs, budget, procurements or requirements of IT architecture.
Experience and knowledge of DoD, Department of Navy (DoN) or similar Automated Data Processing / Information Assurance standards for software development and life cycle management for both hardware and software.
Experience and ability to convey written information in a clear, concise, organized and convincing manner for the intended audience, using correct English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
Experience in the planning, development, implementation, and administration of the collection, storage, maintenance, integrity and retrieval of data, using knowledge of computer hardware and software.

Series Definition:
This series includes professional positions which primarily involve the application of, or research into, computer science methods and techniques to store, manipulate, transform or present information by means of computer systems. Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
Evaluation of Education:
Applicants should have sufficient knowledge to understand the fundamental concepts and techniques of computer science. Courses designed to provide an introduction to computer science techniques and methodologies, to problems of system design, and to other specialized fields are acceptable. Courses or experience in teaching elementary, business, or shop mathematics are not acceptable.
