About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W45VAA US ARMY SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND.

Duties

Conducts detailed reviews and evaluations of National and Theater level strategies and operational requirements to determine the impact on Commands intelligence in the USASOC Strategy development and implementation process. Communicates Command Intelligence capability requirements verbally and in writing, to USASOC Force Modernization (FM) staff and externally with various Army Component Agency staff members. Applies multi-discipline knowledge of all-source analysis, geospatial, signal, open source, human, counterintelligence and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance to develop Strategies and analysis of Operational Plans to identify requirements. Assists the Chief, Strategic Plans and Analysis Division in representing the ARSOF Intelligence Warfighting Function (WfF) throughout the USASOC Strategic Planning Process. Serves as a Senior Intelligence Specialist in the Strategic Plans and Analysis Division, Deputy Chief of Staff, G2, United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC).

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain eligibility for Top Secret/sensitive compartmented information (SCI) access based on favorable adjudication of a single-scope background investigation.
  • Temporary duty travel (TDY) may be required 25% or less of the time.

Applying multi-discipline intelligence knowledge to the development of Strategy and Operational Plans. AND 3. Participating in the coordination of Force Modernization (FM) processes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service. (GG/GS-12). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
