About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W0V2AA US ARMY SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND.

Duties

Serves as the UNIT X Senior Intelligence Analyst (SIA) responsible for the facilitating all-source intelligence production of a broad and trans-regional nature across Geographic Combatant Command Areas of Responsibility/Areas of Interest (AOR/AOI). Assists analysts in the development of answerable intelligence questions that assess foreign capabilities and trends (primarily focused on the Counter Violence Extremist Organizations and Counter Great Power Competition Problem Sets). Designs and leads innovative interdisciplinary or in-depth study projects to produce integrated, targeted intelligence products. Defends G2 analytic positions for validity and soundness of methodologies, intelligence policy emphasis, satisfaction of customer requirements, and adherence to DoD policies and objectives. Provides advice to directorate leadership on areas for investment in command-wide analytic development and procures or develops the necessary resources to implement established G2 wide analytic development goals. Exercises the full range of managerial and supervisory authorities, to include overseeing the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of the various intelligence operations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a T5 (or equivalent) investigation.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required 25% or less of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) preparing, producing, and disseminating both scheduled and unscheduled general military intelligence (GMI) products, such as: briefings, studies, estimates, forecasts, and assessments; (2) reviewing correctness/accuracy of researched all-source intelligence material; and (3) collaborating and sharing analytical results with intelligence analysts, technical experts and decision makers to determine appropriate focus for intelligence reporting. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-13). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
