You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the RANGES/TRGTS OPS/INSTRMTN & LABS GROUP, THREAT / TARGET SYSTEMS DEPT, MOBILE & INTEG THREAT DIV, THRT SYS OPS & SUPT BR of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
Duties
You will research, analyze impact, install, and test software updates, patches and hot fixes.
You will provide support to software developers, users, and other personnel as needed to resolve issues resulting from patching, upgrades, or other sustainment/development activities.
You will be performing system administrative tasking, coordinating deliverables with other functional area team members, and reporting status up to the leadership of the organization.
You will assist in the design, procurement, installation, maintenance, and sustainment for Windows-based systems in the TARIF portfolio as well as the labs in which they reside in at China Lake.
Requirements

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 451, proficiency level basic the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
DS-04:
Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Maintaining the current and future cybersecurity posture for an organization as well as assist in the maintenance and sustainment activities for all Information Systems (IS).
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing support to the assigned Information Systems Security Officers (ISSO) to maintain system compliance, validating compliance via scanning, and creating/maintaining artifacts that support the accreditation and continuous monitoring processes.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Communicating as a technical subject matter expert to various personnel, including IPT leads, division leadership, and department-level CSWF staff as needed.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Collaborating with others to provide integrated hardware/software solutions to multiple organizations.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-9/10) or pay band (DS-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as the following: 1) Independently performing complex IT maintenance; 2) Independently performing complex cybersecurity functions; 3) Utilizing Microsoft Office software suite to perform IT-related work; 4) Independently performing work related to network administration, maintenance planning and support, and upgrade/expansion projects for an organization; 5) Demonstrated experience related to virtualization technology.

DS-03:
