You will serve as a Pneudraulic Systems Mechanic in the MRO Production Department of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will read and interpret blueprints to assemble or disassemble pneudraulic systems subassemblies and components. You will repair and test components (e.g., pneumatic valves, cooling turbines, hydromechanical fuel control subassemblies, electro-hydraulic servos) using pneudraulic, hydraulic, and basic electrical and mechanical principles. You will disassemble hydraulic and pneumatic systems, assemblies, subassemblies, and components to access parts for inspection or repair. You will perform dynamic, static pressure, pump performance, and electrical tests of components in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. You will use physical principles governing the behavior of fluids (e.g., liquid, gas) when troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems or cryogenic equipment.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. Assemble/disassemble hydraulic pneumatic systems; Diagnose the cause of operational failures to determine repairs; Troubleshoot and repair problems that occur during testing; Recording test performance parameters and calculating output; Ordering and replacing prescribed parts; Checking the dimensions, tolerances and determining serviceability of parts; Performing testing of pneudraulic subassemblies and components using knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical principles; Determining the condition of tested components; Adapting procedures to new or modified components and test benches; Using prints, schematics, manuals, and technical documents; Operating precision measuring dimensional and pressure devices; Operating electrical and electronic measuring devices; Using a variety of hand tools.
