About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Rucker is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.
Duties
Apply practical knowledge of Air Traffic Control and/or flight operations including such subjects as Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
Review completed projects for conformity with training criteria.
Coordinates and participates in development of course management procedures to ensure proper relationships and participation of operational and training elements of the division.
Coordinate with technical content of training materials.
Select training sequences, ensures technical accuracy of the actions, conditions, and standards of training objectives.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Must complete Cadre Training Course; TRADOC recognized Basic Instructor Course; Systems Approach to Training Basic Course; Test Construction Course.
- Must possess a FAA Control Tower Operators Certificate or a Certificate of Grades.
- Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed three years by a current permanent Army employee. time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years.
- Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/ or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates Applying practical knowledge of training methods and techniques and specialized technical knowledge of Air Traffic Control and/or flight operations including such subjects as Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Air Traffic Control procedures, weather, flight publications, flight records, operations, tactical flight operations, tactical Air Traffic Control and equipment, and related subjects in the development and revision of complete courses or programs of instruction used within USAAVNC and/or for extension training. 2) Reviews and classifies training objectives, selects training sequences, ensures technical accuracy of the actions, conditions, and standards of training objectives. Reviews and coordinates training actions to ensure compliance with the systems approach to training process.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Education.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
