Duties
Conducts financial analysis and project studies which includes gathering, assembling, correlating, and analyzing facts in order to make projections, draw conclusions, and recommend solutions.
Recognizes potential improvement opportunities in financial management operations and advises management of these opportunities.
Advises management officials in strategic planning and in the decision making process with the goal of optimizing scarce resources to meet customer requirements, reducing rework, determining operational capacity, and increasing quality.
Determines risk to fraud, waste, and abuse and the adequacy of security safeguards.
Advises management of identified problem areas, suggests corrective action, and/or develops guidance to clarify regulations, policies, or procedures.
Collects and analyzes customer service data to determine levels of customer satisfaction and customer desired levels of service.

- Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service.

- Please note, this is NOT a 100% virtual/remote position where work may be performed from any location in the US. This position is eligible for local telework near the duty station of the position, subject to management review and approval.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience is defined as: Performing financial management analysis and assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of organizational programs and initiatives; conducting financial reviews; planning and conducting management studies; analyzing data regarding financial management business processes; recommending process improvements.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
