You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER INSPECTOR SUPERVISOR II in the Ordnance Division for the Navy Munitions Command (NMC) of NMCLANT DET EARLE NJ.

Duties

You will control movement of trains, railcars, trucks, and forklifts to support operations. You will be second line supervisor of multi-skilled work groups/ Accountability Control Teams ACTs, who perform a wide range of activities. You will be involved in receiving, storing, segregating, issuing, handling, selecting, prepping, blocking/ bracing, inventorying and shipping ordnance materials ammunition, explosives, chemical munitions, fuels, missiles, associated components You will use supervisory skills, maintaining personnel practices, planning for and directing a subordinate workforce, effectively coordinating work efforts with other functional areas, and interpreting complex written instructions. You will compile and complete required reports and evaluations as well as interpret complex written technical publications in all responsible functional areas.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position requires rotating shift work.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to Supervise Planning and directing a subordinate workforce, effectively coordinating work efforts with other functional areas. Interpreting complex written instructions and technical publications and compiling and completing required reports and evaluations. Maintaining explosive safety handling requirements, quality assurance inspection requirements, preparation/certification of transportation requirements/regulations regarding commercial motor vehicle, rail, aircraft and vessel shipments.
