You will serve as a MATERIAL HANDLER INSPECTOR LEADER in the ORDNANCE DIVISION CODE 272 of NAVY MUNITIONS COMMAND.
Duties
You will assure quality, quantity, and safety of ordnance materials and operations as related to receipt, storage, segregation, issue, handling, renovation, preservation, packing documentation, and shipping.
You will advise management of safety of facilities, equipment, and planned operations.
You will review standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations are considered in planning work operations.
You will construct, place sheathes, and install wooden blocks, wedges, bracing structures, bulkheads, deck boxes, and other staying devices to ensure safe transport of ordnance cargo.
Requirements

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current DON Ammunition Sentencing training for Quality Inspection certification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current materials handling equipment (MHE) operator's license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current explosive hazardous materials driver's license to operate motor vehicles having a gross vehicle weight of more than 32,000 pounds.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current commercial driver's license (CDL) endorsement for hazardous materials for off base or over public highway movement/shipment.
Qualifications

Interpreting complex written drawings, instructions and technical publications.
Handling requirements, quality assurance inspection requirements, preparation/certification of transportation requirements/regulations regarding commercial motor vehicle, rail, and vessel shipments involving explosive safety..
Performing receipt, issue, segregation and storage of assets.
Performing quality inspections in accordance with technical directives, drawings, markings, labels, tags, condition, hazard classification, compatibility, serviceability, service life, and packaging configurations to include palletization and unitization.
