About the Position: This position is located in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) under the policy guidance and direction of the Assistant Secretary of Defense Healthcare Admin Financial Operations, Business Intelligence in Fort Sam Houston, TX.
Duties
Serve as advisor to the senior leaders within the Business Integration Division, DHA staff, and to the installations and activities under jurisdiction of the headquarters to include CONOUS and OCONUS.
Represent the Command at meetings with senior representatives of higher headquarters or other government agency personnel regarding new or revised resourcing, financial management, and/or accounting procedures (especially those dealing with DHA).
Responsible for meeting DHA performance metrics.
Review and evaluate command programs to implement automated data processing applications to ensure financial data accuracy.
Evaluate and oversee automated data processing (ADP) internal control requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires certification in Financial Management at Certification Level 3 within 24 months of appointment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Utilizing automated financial systems such as Commander's Resource Information System (CRIS), Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System (DEAMS) and General Fund Enterprise Business Solution (GFEBS) in order to produce various financial reports and accounting data for the Military Health System; reviewing and evaluating the appropriated financial activities for the Military Health Systems; evaluating the appropriated financial activities of the Military Health System using data systems to include the Military Health System Mart (M2), Medical Data Repository (MDR), and other data sources; developing strategies to improve overall financial program of the Military Health System to include aspects such as quality of financial data, appropriated accounting, financial reporting operations and effective financial control to assist with key management decisions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12)
