About the Position: This position is located in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) under the policy guidance and direction of the DIRECTOR OF STAFF (AD DS) FINANCIAL OPERATIONS (J-8) BUSINESS INTEGRATION in San Antonio, TX.
Duties
Responsible for working with the DHA Financial Management systems points of contacts and other organizations in order to perform Portfolio Management functions.
Interpret policy and ensures financial policy compliance.
Evaluate the changing environment and ensure the timely review, analysis, and adjustment of strategies, plans and programs with the Cost Assessment Branch Chief and DHA executives.
Responsible for determining the optimal set of resourcing requirements, structure and the impact of new business processes on the existing organizational structure.
Assess and assist DHA staff and subordinate organizations in conducting cost benefits assessments.
Coordinate and oversee the work and projects for additional civilian or contract positions that are multi-disciplined professional, technical, and clerical skilled personnel within the Cost Assessment Branch.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must possess or obtain and maintain Financial Management Certification, level 3 within 12 months of employment.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:coordinating the work tasks of a team or group; analyzing financial programs to determine effectiveness/efficiency; establishing and disseminating resource/financial management information to the organization; monitoring and advising on complex and technical financial systems throughout a health system; and developing alternative approaches to obtain information and gauge the impact on health care delivery. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
