About the Position: This position serves as a Supply Management Specialist for SOTF in Fort Liberty, NC.

Duties

Serves as the squadron's technical authority for all functions related to the Squadron's Logistics program. Responsible for identifying, accounting, controlling, issuing, and disposing of all property, equipment, and supplies including unique communications electronic equipment and state-of-the-art automation hardware and software. Provides training support to squadron personnel on new and existing Logistics Property Accountability Systems and processes. Oversees work performed by contract employee. Perform duties and responsibilities of IMPAC Cardholder complying with Federal Acquisition Regulations, U.S. Government GPC policies and procedures and unit SOPs. Specifically addresses procurement of supplies and non-personal services at or below the micro-purchases threshold with the GPC.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information access security clearance duration of employment.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter.
  • In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
  • The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • Incumbent will be required to carry a pager and will be subject to 24-hour recall.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience: 1) Utilizing automated supply databases for supply management determinations. 2) Resolving difficult issues and problems, involving supply processes, work methods, supply data management, and/or day-to-day operational procedures to manage complex supply programs. 3) Maintaining supply and property book records. 4) Utilizing a Government Purchase Card (GPC) to procure supplies for a military squadron. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
