Duties
You will perform work in conjunction with accounting systems involving analytical, forecasting, and interpretive functions associated with the management and control of resources or funds.
You will research guides to locate accounting, budgetary, and financial information and prepare summaries for use by managers and properly post accounting entries and resolve suspended transactions.
You will apply financial management laws and regulations.
You will assist in budgeting to support plans, programs, and activities.
You will assist business lines with budget execution and obligation issues.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- This is a Financial Management Level One certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
GS-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting in interpreting regulations, policies, and operating instructions applicable to financial management/accounting systems operations; 2) Coherently communicating to management or personnel the interpretations of financial policies and procedures; 3) Responding to inquiries on financial matters utilizing various forms of communications; and 4) Reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling financial data and reports for accuracy and reliability in accordance with appropriate law, rules, and regulations. ***NOTE: This length of time and experience must be fully and clearly demonstrated in your resume.
GS-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Researching and compiling data to be used by management for decision-making; 2) Interpreting regulations, policies, and operating instructions applicable to financial management/accounting systems operations; 3) Reviewing and evaluating budget requests, control and reporting of obligations and expenditures; and 4) Responding to inquiries on financial matters utilizing various forms of communications. ***NOTE: This length of time and experience must be fully and clearly demonstrated in your resume.

For the GS-09 Grade Level:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
For the GS-07 Grade Level:
1 full year of graduate-level education
or
Superior Academic Achievement (SAA)
