This position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Administration (OA), White House Office of the CFO (OCFO), Travel and Events Division. The Travel and Events Division supports all aspects of travel and event requirements for the White House Office, the Office of the Vice President, and staff and component travel. The incumbent oversees systems and processes that support internal and external customers, including other elements of the Travel and Events Division.
Duties
As a Travel Systems Manager, GS-0501-13, your typical work assignments may include the following:
* Develops and implements the travel services help desk processes and procedures, including coordination and tracking of customer inquiries for dashboard reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.
* Updates and maintains routing lists used to maintain flow of documents to the appropriate approving official.
* Oversees the pre-payment and post-payment audit program of EOP traveler documents.
* Ensures that all sampled travel related payments to travelers are accurate.
* Serves as POC for problems and questions on the system regarding software use, entitlements, transaction problems and payment problems.
* Oversees EOP's international services operations by providing visa guidance and ensuring effective communications with the Department of State and foreign Embassies, as required.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standards.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.

You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you meet the following minimum qualification requirement:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector which includes: 1) Knowledge of the Concur self-service travel system; 2) Understanding of Federal travel, travel systems, policies and practices and related regulations and procedural guidelines as promulgated by the Department of Treasury, General Accounting Office, General Services Administration, and Department of State; 3) Understanding of the automated accounting systems and the problems associated with changes to systems in order to locate and analyze data.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
