The primary purpose of this position is to provide complete and timely technical and support for major modules, components and associated equipment for the aircraft commodity level components. In addition, scheduling replacement of major commodity end-items and embedded assemblies through parts projecting,technical analysis and support and ensuring quality control.
Duties
Performs analysis associated with technical aspects of the management of items.
Determines current and future replenishment spare requirements.
Provides complex management support in the design and/or redesign of systems.
Participates in meetings and conferences to represent the Organization.

- The duty location for this position is TINKER AFB, OK. However, this position is eligible for telework flexibilities. Telework options can be negotiated and implemented after entrance on duty.
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Undergraduate Education: Major study -- any field of study in an accredited college or university.
Graduate Education: Major study -- fields related to the position to be filled.
OR
Specialized Experience: Examples of qualifying specialized experience includes:
Working as a skilled mechanic or maintenance worker, sales or service engineer, or planner or estimator in a technical group dealing with manufacture, utilization, repair, or operation of equipment.
Reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements.
Analyzing equipment and forecasting spare parts requirements.
Reading and interpreting engineering change orders, equipment requisitions, shop orders, and work orders.
Analyzing contract specifications and examining pertinent equipment to determine if specifications are met.
Analyzing or supervising maintenance, repair, or production operations to determine methods of improvement.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes handling technical content of assigned complex and sophisticated aircraft systems/subsystems and equipment. Planning, analyzing, and evaluating support aircraft systems/subsystem requirements. Providing support and guidance throughout the organization on methods of sustainment, acquisition, correcting deficiencies, and resolving equipment problems with long term implications. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a broad range of program relationships and interrelated processes.
Knowledge of specialized analytical methods and techniques to resolve difficult technical issues and problems
Skill in providing technical advice in terms of oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations to leadership and
maintenance technicians; and developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships, and working
cooperatively as a member of a team.
Specialized practical and theoretical knowledge of assigned systems/equipment for application to difficult, unusual, and
unprecedented situations and problems
Skill to interpret, adapt, and apply equipment specialist guidelines
Knowledge of acquisition processes, automated records and control systems, and technical problems.
Knowledge of commonly applied technical principles, techniques, and practices.
Skill to apply common applied technical principles, procedures, problems, and issues.
Knowledge of budgeting, procurement, and funding processes related to inventory management functions.
Knowledge of automated data system design and evaluation techniques, methods, and procedures.
Ability to plan, organize, and reprioritizes work to meet changing deadlines.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
