This is a career seasonal position located in Haleakala National Park, in the Trails Maintenance Division.

Duties
This is a Career-Seasonal position and is subject to release and recall procedures. A permanent career-seasonal position includes all the benefits of permanent employment but does not provide employment on a full year-round basis. As such, the selectee will be in a non-pay/non-duty status for at least 2 weeks to 6 months per year. While in pay status, the work schedule is full-time. The typical season for Haleakala National Park is Mid-October through the end of September with one pay period of non-pay occurring from end of September to Mid-October.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Lead and supervise completion of trail maintenance project through effective allocation of assignments, tools, and materials to work crews.
Inspect in progress and completed work to ensure final product adheres to standards for quality and quantity.
Monitor, document, manage, and direct safety program for assigned employees.
Provide feedback and document performance of employees.
Gather trail condition assessment data and develop long range maintenance plans.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:

Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (Includes Blueprint Reading)
Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc.
Knowledge of Materials
Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic)
Use of Measuring Instruments
