About the Position: Fort Gregg-Adams, Home of Logistic Warriors, is a US Army installation located near the Tri-Cities of Petersburg, Colonial Heights, and Hopewell, VA. Fort Gregg-Adams is south of Richmond, the Capital of Virginia. There are a number of important missions accomplished by the activities located here. The missions accomplished at Fort Gregg-Adams include combat and training development and the professional development of military personnel through various training programs.

Duties

Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist utilizing senior level skills and knowledge of Army Combat Service Support (CSS) policy, procedures and automated logistics information systems. Emphasis on the Army's CSS Command and Control (C2) activities at all levels of the logistics continuum. Visits Army field installations and other logistics activities to evaluate automation performance and effectiveness and attends meetings on related subjects as required. Serves as Project officer for special projects regarding actions related to the development, test, implementation, and maintenance of automated systems to include coordination and/or development of functional design and resource requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • SECRET CLEARANCE - This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • PERFORM TEMPORARY DUTY (TDY) - This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: :One year of specialized experience that includes: 1) using a deep knowledge of Logistics, integrate the development of concepts, and doctrine pertaining to maintenance, supply, transportation and services into the logistics system; 2) possessing in-depth knowledge of logistics software such as in developing Automated Information Systems (AIS) requirements, working on special projects that may have a significant impact on the future direction of sustainment automation, resolving procedural issues and identifying productivity improvements in the development of automated information systems area pertaining to joint service activities at the tactical and operational levels; 3) preparing, reviews, and updates capability development documentation for multifunctional automated logistics information systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Planning and EvaluatingSupport EquipmentTechnical Data Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
