About the Position: This position will serve as a Training Specialist (ADA Doctrine Developer) with the Directorate of Training and Doctrine (DOTD), Fires Center of Excellence (FCoE) located at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Duties

Serve as an ADA Doctrine Developer with responsibility for addressing the doctrinal, tactical, technical and conceptual aspects of all ADA and counter-small unmanned aircraft system (C-sUAS) with their interrelationships to other combat arms. Write, edit, review, and publish a variety of US Army Air Defense Artillery manuals including Army doctrine publications, Army doctrine reference publications, field manuals, Army techniques publications, and training circulars. Review doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures publications to to ensure the correct depiction of Army Air Defense Artillery and C-sUAS. Review and edit all doctrinal and technical documents produced. Proofread and edit manuscripts and rewrite sentences to correct grammatical and typographical errors, misspelled words, improve structure and enhance clarity of presentation.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This position required the employee to occasionally travel away from home station overnight (TDY) approximately 15% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes the following: Conduct research in order to publish documentation addressing specific doctrinal and technical issues regarding air defense systems (ADA) and counter-small unmanned aircraft system (C-sUAS); Propose ADA and C-sUAS tactics to support the field units in any conceivable type of operational environment; and Develop ADA and C-sUAS training course materials to promote educational advancement throughout the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Adult Education. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education and TrainingTraining and Education Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
