This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the STRL Mission Support direct hire authority. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties

You will perform inspections, repairs, and repacks of emergency egress/life support equipment. You will participate in the design and/or development of new parachute equipment. You will perform quality assurance inspections and repair of fleet parachutes and life rafts. You will review and provide input on packing instructions. You will assist in mishap and engineering investigations that result from Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDR) and perform reviews of engineering drawings and technical manuals. You will be able to understand/interpret Engineering drawings when making test equipment/articles. You will perform fabrication of textile items for test and evaluation of parachute systems, ALSS and Naval Airborne Operations gear and accessories with little or no oversight. You will fabricate textile closing loops, bridles, Mylar bags, and hermetically sealing parachute systems. You will perform basic sewing machine maintenance and repair.

Requirements

• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Ordnance Handler certification.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

DT-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DT-03 (GS 9-10 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following:1) Performing inspections, repairs, and repacks of emergency egress/life support equipment; 2) Performing quality assurance inspections and repair of fleet parachutes and life rafts; 3) Assisting in mishap and engineering investigations that result from Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDR) and performing reviews of engineering drawings and technical manuals; 4) Performing fabrication of textile items for test and evaluation of parachute systems and accessories with little or no oversight; 5) Fabricating textile closing loops, bridles, Mylar bags, and hermetically sealing parachute systems; and 6) Performing basic sewing machine maintenance and repair. DT-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DT-02 (GS 5-8 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Assisting with inspections, repairs, and repacks of emergency egress/life support equipment; 2) Assisting with quality assurance inspections and repair of fleet parachutes and life rafts; 3) Providing assitance with fabrication of textile items for test and evaluation of parachute systems and accessories; 4) Fabricating textile closing loops, bridles, Mylar bags, and hermetically sealing parachute systems; and 5) Performing basic sewing machine maintenance and repair.
