About the Position: Serves as the installation personal clothing supply technician, responsible for the documentary and financial inventory control of the receipt, transfer, storage, replenishment, adjustment and issue of clothing items.
Duties
Apply a thorough knowledge of supply procedures, and Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP) procedures in order to apply coding requirements and introduce transaction data directly into the computer.
Maintain complete files of all automated listings, reports, and/or documents that have inventory implication.
Maintain accurate accounting and reporting system for inventory control of clothing items.
Review and verify documents against automated reports to ensure correct application.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
- The duties of the position require Temporary Duty Travel approximately 5% of the duty time.
- A qualified typist is required.

Specialized Experience @ GS-05: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) using a computer terminal to send and receive email; 2) entering, revising and retrieving information from a supply database; and 3) reviewing and verifying supply documents against automated reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education @ GS-05: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience @ GS-05: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Specialized Experience @ GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) using a computer terminal to communicate with the supply center and contractors regarding the operation of the Integrated Retail Software applications; 2) initiating actions to secure stock not immediately available; and 3) maintaining accurate accounting and reporting system for inventory control of clothing items. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job at the GS-06 level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Advancement requirement to positions up to GS-05: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-05 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment.
Time in Grade Requirement @ GS-06: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
