This is a temporary appointment not to exceed 12-month position.
Duties
Develop and disseminate information and instructions to ensure uniform interpretation.
Receive incoming pay directives, policies, and instructions to implement changes.
Analyze pay statistics to identify problems and trends.
Conduct training for processing of pay actions and allowances.
Provide training at USARC and RSC Pay Workshops throughout the year.
Research and answer pay inquiries using the Defense Joint Military Pay System - Reserve Component (DJMS-RC).
Perform USAR Pay program regular reviews of unit Reserve Pay operations to ensure compliance with USARC guidance and accurate timely payments to TPU Soldiers.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires Financial Management Certification Level 2.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves utilizing various regulations and procedures applicable to pay systems to provide guidance and assistance to subordinate units and to conduct training in all areas of reserve pay procedure enhancements of the automated pay systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Financial Management or Accounting.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
