About the Position: This is a permanent position as a Financial System Analyst with the Soldier Support Institute (SSI) at Fort Jackson SC

Duties

Provides Financial Management (FM) subject matter expertise and program management support to ensure FM instruction and related training activities maximize effectiveness of available government Information Technology (IT) resources. Participates in the development, delivery, and sustainment of progressive performance-oriented systems training across the breadth of resident and distributed Learning courseware. Serves as the staff expert for the accounting interface to multiple other business and reporting systems which operate in multiple technical environments. Advises the commandant on the development, capability, and sustainment of enterprise-wide systems, and related Army-wide sustainment training.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT LEVEL 2 CERTIFIED - must be able to obtain this certification within 24 months from hire date.
  • NATIONAL AGENCY CHECK WITH WRITTEN INQUIRIES (NACI) - Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision SupportFinancial Concepts, Policies, and PrinciplesFinancial Management SystemsFinancial Stewardship Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
