Duties
You will assist with configuration of computer hardware and software.
You will assist with installing, maintaining and administering computer networks and related systems security requirements.
You will assist with troubleshooting and resolving customer issues.
You will be responsible for the day to day technical operation, maintenance and security of a computer system.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 451 level basic within 12 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
DS-04: Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the lower pay band (DS-03) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Assisting with troubleshooting failed system components, including both hardware and software components; 2) Assisting in installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems (Windows and Linux) and software; 3) Assisting with cybersecurity requirements including applying patches, updates, and Security Technical Implementation Guides for user desktops, laptops, and servers; and 4) Assisting the Information and Security Officer with the lab IT configuration management.
DS-03: Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:

Your resume must also demonstrate at least three years of general experience, one year equivalent to the lower pay band (DS-02) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gathering pertinent data, and recognizing solutions; 2) Planning and organizing work; and 3) Communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
DS-03:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
OR
2 full years (36 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
