About the Position: The Military Entrance Processing Station plays a vital role in maintaining the nation's military might by ensuring that each new member of the Armed Forces: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force & Coast Guard; meets the high mental, moral & medical standards required by the DoD & the military services. Every MEPS represents state of the art in testing, examining & processing applicants for enlistment into the Armed Forces. This position will be filled on a permanent basis.

Duties

As an Administrative Services technician, you will: Serve as Facility Manager for a Military Entrance Processing Station. Establishes plans and programs for overall center safety, physical security, and environmental compliance programs. Serve as the MEPS fleet vehicle manager, arranging for the pickup, maintenance, dispatch, and turn-in of vehicles. Serve as Primary Government Purchasing Card Agent for the organization Serve as Inventory Control/Hazardous Material Management point of contact for the MEPS Implements Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans for the proper handling of hazardous materials. Schedule equipment maintenance/calibration and repairs as necessary Establish plans and programs for overall center safety, physical security, and environmental compliance programs. Implement Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans for the proper handling of hazardous materials.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has been designated as non-sensitive and requires a personnel security background check.
  • This position requires you to possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Government Purchase Card.
  • This position requires you to possess a current or be able to obtain and maintain a HAZMAT certification.
  • This position requires you to possess a current or be able to obtain and maintain a blood borne pathogens certification.
  • This position requires you to be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • This position requires you to be able to utilize material handling equipment.
  • This position requires you to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state issued or US territory issued driver's license and to be able to drive motor vehicles.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
