You will serve as a Staff Assistant with NCIS. All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. Duties

You will review, analyze, and respond to routine incoming inquires, administrative actions and issues, and outgoing correspondence. You will recommend internal office procedures based on an understanding of the NCIS mission and functions policies and views, and the incumbent’s understanding of administrative concepts, principles and practices. You will assist in monitoring the priority of actions based on the sensitivity of the subject matter, suspense dates, and other pertinent data. You will compose a variety of routine written material/correspondence, i.e. transmittal letters, requests for information. You will perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

FOR GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Reviewing and analyzing routine incoming inquires, administrative actions and issues, and outgoing correspondence. Experience with internal office procedures based on an understanding of the NCIS mission and functions policies and views. FOR GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with NCIS policies, directives, instructions and procedures sufficient to carry out assignments. Experience creating graphs, charts and documents using various software applications.
