About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, Executive Director for Support Operations, Rock Island, IL
Duties
Execute National Military Strategy by strategically programming and planning prepositioning warfighting stock budget for critical worldwide locations.
Participate in overseeing logistics operations in regards to planning and programming in support of management, readiness, reporting, requirements determination and maintenance of the worldwide Army Prepositioned Stock (APS) Stockpiles.
Provides oversight of programming, planning, and budgeting in assigned areas of responsibility in the execution of a variety of operations (e.g. receipt, storage, inspection, accountability, repair, maintenance and reimbursable programs).
Conduct reviews on policy guidance and procedures applicable to government logistics operations Army prepositioned Stock Program for compliance and programming purposes.
Working directly with Strategic Planning Officers (internal and external to the organization) in the development/execution of APS Strategy initiatives.
Conduct analysis on APS Operational Plan (OPLAN) strategy and concept plans for emerging missions, performance trend analysis, and operations in order to assist in defining, planning, and programming the APS Program Objective Memorandum (POM).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 Secret Security Clearance.
- Temporary duty travel of 10% may be required.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: applying analytical techniques to assess the effectiveness and compliance of operational requirements of the logistics program; developing program future budget planning in support of the execution of Army preposition stock initiatives; recommending resolutions to specific issues and problems in Army preposition stock operations; communicating integration initiatives to ensure the directorate has a common understanding of planning concepts and implementation plans; and programming resources based on detailed analysis in order to program, plan, and budget for required logistical services for current year, resource summit, and Program Objective memorandum (POM). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
