Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As an Emergency Management Specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response to optimize business results and customer experience to: Serves as an Emergency Management Specialist with responsibilities for developing and implementing programs necessary for execution of all SOC activities. Acts as a "Watch Officer" on a 24/7 Watch team within HHS's Emergency Operations Center communicating with local, state, federal and international partners, and emergency responders. Coordinate the exchange information and develop partnerships with communities of interest including intra and interagency operations centers. Ensure Public Health and Medical threat and Incident information is properly acquired, displayed, and archived. Participates the operations activities of the Secretary's Operations Center response coordination efforts and maintains a high level of individual readiness in preparation for Continuity of Operations during emergency situations

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR A. You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service at least two (2) ALL of the following: Assisting in in providing emergency management support. Assisting in identifying, analyzing, and making recommendations to resolve conventional problems and situations; and Applying basic principles, concepts and methodology of public health and medical emergencies with assist or supervision. OR B. Must have completed a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or two (2) full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such as degree; or LL.B or J.D. if related. OR C. Must have a combination of experience as described in "A" above and graduate education as described in "B" above Documenting experience: IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC.
