Duties

The United States Space Force's (USSF) Chief Human Capital Office (CHCO) is looking to hire MULTIPLE well-versed Military HR Specialists to support HR functions and the implementation and integration of the Congress-approved Space Force Personnel Management Act. All duty locations are located in the National Capital Region, with flexible telework schedule. Resumes must be no longer than 5 pages. Positions: 1. HR Specialist, Military Assignments and Fitness Policy (NH-0201-03) Will be responsible for providing well researched, subject matter expertise and for developing essential status, participation, assignments, and fitness programs for the Service. MUST HAVE: Experience developing, implementing, and interpreting military personnel policy related to military assignments (e.g., permanent, temporary, humanitarian, reassignment, status/participation based), comprehensive force management, fitness, utilization, readiness, entitlements, and a possesses high level of understanding how each impacts the others. Skilled in developing, interpreting and implementing policy and law. Experience preparing material for, briefing and providing recommended courses of action to General Officers and/or Senior Executive leadership. IDEAL CANDIDATE: Experience and understanding in: Part-time military statuses and a broad experience in military personnel management; working at an Agency-level HQ, leading teams, task management, responding to Congressional inquiries and/or writing reports to Congress, writing legislative proposals, developing and writing Service-level military personnel policy using legal/policy authorities and developing, implementing and managing service level personnel policies. 2. HR Specialist, Military Promotion Policy (Officer and Enlisted) (NH-0201-03) Will be responsible for providing well researched, subject matter expertise and for developing military promotion policy for the Service. MUST HAVE: Experience developing, implementing, and interpreting military personnel policy related to military promotions (officer and enlisted) matters, promotion selection board procedures, developmental processes, and personnel utilization. Skilled in developing, interpreting and implementing policy and law. Experience preparing material for, briefing and providing recommended courses of action to General Officers and/or Senior Executive leadership. IDEAL CANDIDATE: Will have knowledge of military personnel functions to include force management, readiness, assignments, joint matters, and understand how each impacts the others. 3. HR Specialist, Military Training, Development and Accessions Support (NH-0201-3) Will be responsible for providing well researched, subject matter expertise and for developing essential program planning and implementation of all USSF accessions and training program requirements. MUST HAVE: A self-starter with experience developing, implementing, and interpreting military personnel policy related to officer and enlisted accessions, classification, reclassification, and training programs. Will also have knowledge of military personnel functions to include military readiness, retention, utilization, promotions, assignments, and how each impacts the others. Skilled in developing, interpreting and implementing policy and law. Experience preparing material for, briefing and providing recommended courses of action to General Officers and/or Senior Executive leadership. IDEAL CANDIDATE: Experience and understanding in part-time military statuses and personnel training; working at an Agency-level HQ, leading teams, task management, responding to Congressional inquiries and/or writing reports to Congress, writing legislative proposals, developing and writing Service-level military personnel policy using legal/policy authorities and developing, implementing and managing service level personnel policies. 4. HR Specialist, Military Pay, Entitlements and Benefits (NH-0201-3) Will be responsible for providing well researched, subject matter expertise and for developing essential compensation and benefits programs for the Service. MUST HAVE: Knowledge of the full spectrum of military compensation matters to ensure the Space Force has the necessary mix of quality and benefits to recruit and retain high performing members is critical. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of military personnel functions to include military promotions, readiness, assignments, utilization, and how each impacts the other. IDEAL CANDIDATE: Experience and understanding part-time military statuses and compensation, entitlements and benefits; working at an Agency-level HQ, leading teams, task management, responding to Congressional inquiries and/or writing reports to Congress, writing legislative proposals, developing and writing Service-level military personnel policy using legal/policy authorities and developing, implementing and managing service level personnel policies.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Flexible telework schedule available.
  • PCS Funds are available.

  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
