This position works in the operational divisions of the District of Columbia Courts providing administrative and clerical support as assigned.
This announcement will create a roster for all Superior Court Bilingual (Spanish) Deputy Clerk vacancies.The starting salary will be a Grade 6 unless you are currently in the Federal or DC Government and considered a transfer.If you previously applied for a Deputy Clerk (Bilingual/Spanish) posting, you must re-apply for consideration.
Duties
The Deputy Clerk (Bilingual/Spanish) works in the operational divisions of the District of Columbia Courts providing administrative and clerical support and providing exceptional customer service in English and Spanish to the public, judicial officers, attorneys or staff. The Deputy Clerk will be expected to perform the following duties in a timely and competent manner; exercise sound judgment; work independently and cooperatively; and communicate in a clear and courteous manner.
Requirements
- A probationary period of one (1) year must be successfully completed.
- Background and security investigation are required.
- Candidates must be able to speak, interpret and write English and Spanish.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High-School Diploma or GED plus two (2) years of clerical or administrative experience court, legal or office environment. You MUST provide documentation of education or your application will not be considered.
Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are required.Must be able to speak, interpret, read and write Spanish and English fluently.Please note that authorization for the release of your adult criminal record revealing any convictions and forfeitures, and any criminal cases currently pending before the courts are required. If you are selected for the position, a criminal history records check will be conducted.
