About the Position: This Contract Support Specialist position is located at White Sands Test Center, Resource Management Directorate located at White Sands Missile Range(WSMR), NM. WSMR is the DoD's largest, fully-instrumented, open air range, provides America's Armed Forces, allies, partners, and defense technology innovators with the world's premiere research, development, test, evaluation (RDT&E), experimentation, and training facilities to ensure our nation's defense readiness. Duties

Provides advise to Directors, Division Chiefs and Program Managers on all matters relating to the management functions of contracts and has responsibility for all phases of contract administration and management. Assists as a subject matter expert in the initiation of new contract actions and processing of contract modifications arising from changes in mission requirements. Performs the duties of a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) as assigned by the organization. Develops and maintains evaluation systems for the purpose of monitoring and assessing contractual performance for current and future funding requirements. Provides cost breakdowns and supporting rationale to determine applicability and reasonableness.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
  • This position requires Contracting Officer Representative (COR) training in accordance with DoD Instruction 5000.72 or the incumbent must be able to complete training
  • within 21 days of Type A COR designation or within 35 days of Type B or C COR designation; unless another specific timeframe is agreed to by the contracting officer.
  • The incumbent must obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
